6. Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
   Formed by an ancient sea and the powerful effects of plate tectonics, Anza-Borrego consists of mountains and canyons. The best time to visit the park is during the wildflower season in spring. To explore the park, you should rent an SUV so you can easily traverse the 800 km of trails. If that’s not possible, you’ll have to rely on your own two feet to hike. A hike is the best way to enjoy the island’s beauties. We especially recommend the Borrego Palm Canyon Trail and the Cactus Loop Trail.
7. Death Valley
   A true legend on any trip to California is certainly Death Valley. Death Valley boasts an incredibly diverse landscape: it is by no means just a desert landscape; you can see sand dunes, canyons, and numerous lakes. Outside of summer, when temperatures can be excessively high, many hikes are available, such as to Golden Canyon. If you’re driving, don’t miss Artist’s Drive, where you can admire rocks in improbable colors. This is a spot in California you definitely shouldn’t miss!
8. Palm Springs
